0.00 Teaser - May you live in interesting times: How to honor, reflect upon, and mark new moments

In this teaser episode, we give you a taste of what’s to come in Chutzpod!

Rabbi Shira and Joshua discuss the Jewish approach to liminality — moving forward from the past, actually being present in the present, and turning gratefully to the future. We look at the Shehechiyanu blessing, which gives thanks to the Source of All for giving us life, sustaining us, and bringing us to new moments. Even the tough ones.

Here is more information on the Shehechiyanu itself, including help in saying this tongue-twister of a blessing.

Or just try it yourself:

Baruch atah ado-nai, elo-hey-nu melech ha-olam, sheh-heh-chi-yah-nu, v'key-yeh-mah-nu, v'hee-gee-ah-nu la-z'man ha-zeh.

Blessed are you, Source of All, Who oversees our world and the universe, who has given us life, and sustained us, and brought us to this sacred moment.

  2. Rabbi, my kid attends Sixth & I and is taking a class with Rabbi Aron. Josh, I am not on twitter so I was not able to thank you for all the wonderful hours listening to WWW. Regarding, Sports Night, in addition to wonderful part with Kiddish, the question you raised about Easter and the bunny still makes me laugh all these years later.
